At the National Art Museum of the Republic of Moldova for the first time was opened an exhibition of icons made on glass. Icons are donated to the museum by Romanian artist Sorin Seserman living in Switzerland. More than 20 glass icons of the late XIX - early XX century were brought to Chisinau and restored. Depending on the icons - was carried out the following work: mechanical cleaning of color film, strengthening it, restoration of joints frames. Restoration lasted about a year.

This exhibition has become part of activities marking the 75th anniversary of the founding of the National Art Museum of the Republic of Moldova.

Letter on the glass - it is one of the most original forms of traditional Romanian crafts, which goes back more than two centuries. Masters of icons on glass were using a number of tools made by themselves: sticks, brushes, pens, etc..

The exhibition works in the lobby of the museum until  the 11th January 2015.
