In the four metropolitan lakes: Vatra, park Rascani, Valea Morilor and Rose Valley there have been found disease-causing microbes. Water analysis conducted by the National Public Health Center of Chisinau Municipality, confirms the presence of E.coli bacteria in the water, which are the causative agents of intestinal infections. It turned out that the sand on the beach is not safe, there were found helminth eggs.

Basking and swimming in the above lakes, in addition to intestinal infections, you can get skin diseases, viral hepatitis and meningitis.

Currently all capital lakes have only a decorative purpose and bathing in them is strictly banned.
