The Government has decided to establish a bust of the poet Grigore Vieru in Calarasi.

The bust will be erected in the center of the M. Eminescu street, right in front of the G. Vieiru District Public Library.

Means for designing the bust and landscaping of the adjacent territory of the monument will consist of donations and contributions from members of municipal councils.

Grigore Vieru was tragically killed in a car accident 18 January 2009.
