On the 12th September, in 2007 in Moldova by Government Decision of the number 1014 was approved the holiday - " Grandmother's Day." The initiative for establishing this holiday was made by the First Lady Thais Voronin and the Ministry of Social Protection, Family and Child.
This holiday aims to contribute for the strengthening of national and family values, and also a kind of tribute and respect.
The approved resolution states that "Grandmother's Day" will be celebrated annually on the last Saturday of September. On this day there are a variety of holiday activities, the heroes of the occasion themselves take part in such events.
