Every year, on 31st August, the Republic of Moldova celebrate the National Day of the language – “Limba Noastra” (Our Language).
This holiday was established after the adoption of the law on Moldovan language validation of the state status.
On this festive day in the country are numerous exhibitions, festivals, concerts and other celebration. Evening at the Great National Assembly Square is held a concert where take part popular musicians, entertainers and artists.
In addition, at the Armenian cemetery is held a memorial service for prominent figures of the Moldavian culture, which have made a special contribution into the development of the native language and national literature.
Thus, the tribute is done to the poet Alexei Mateevici - the author of the poem "Limba Noastra" (Our Language), this versus are the text of the national anthem of the Republic of Moldova.
