National Wine Day in Moldova

«Национальный день вина» в Молдове

"With respect to the traditions and with courage towards innovation” is the motto of "National Wine Day" , which has become a tradition held in October in the central square of Chisinau.

Moldovan Wine is a symbol of our republic. "National Wine Day" was approved in 2002 and is held under the patronage of the President of the Moldova Republic.

The festival organizers are aimed at promotion healthy and moderate consumption of wine, bringing together producers and consumers through activities and events related to wine culture, art and gastronomy.

Two days the residents and guest of our capital are entertained by the artistic groups, presentations of folk artists, street artists and photographers, master classes and wine tastings, cooking shows.

This holiday is finished by the traditional national Moldovan dance (Hora) and with the fireworks show.

This holiday attracts not only people of our country, but also foreign tourists thanks to its rich and colorful program. In this regard, in 2003 the Moldovan Parliament adopted a law establishing a new visa regime for foreign citizens, with the issuance of visas free of charge for the 15 day period, on the occasion of "National Wine Day."
