Monument to Moldovan ruler Stefan cel Mare was opened in Criuleni.

The author of the monument is a Romanian sculptor Constantin Cranganis.

It is the tallest statue of the king in the Republic of Moldova; its height is four meters.

The opening ceremony was attended by the head of state Timofti, the first Moldovan President Mircea Snegur and other prominent political figures. The monument was consecrated by Metropolitan Vladimir.
