Approximately 25% of the total expenses of the population of the RM is covered by remittances from abroad.

According to the head of the National Bank of Moldova Dorin Dragutanu total transfers in 2014 have amounted to 1.613 billion dollars, it is 4 million more than in 2013.

Dragutanu noted that in the first half of 2014, remittances exceeded the previous year, in the second semester the growth slowed, then began to decline.

The head of the National Bank believes that in 2015 is expected to further decline in remittances from abroad.
