Since May 1st the minimum wage will increase by 15%

The Government of the Republic of Moldova has approved a decision to change the minimum wage. The project was proposed by the Minister of Labour, Social Protection and Family Ruxanda Glavan.

Starting from May 1st, the minimum wage in the real sector will increase by 15% compared to the previous year will be 1900 lei.

Ruxanda Glavan said that they had to change one part of the law. It is necessary to increase the minimum wage from 1650 to 1900 lei. This would lead to increase of the average salary to 4,500 lei, compared with the current 4,200 lei.

In addition, today the government approved 15%increase of financial assistance to refugees and beneficiaries of humanitarian protection. Since 2015, this aid amounted to 675 lei, that is 42 lei more than in 2014.
