In Moldova, bought a new batch of vaccines against pneumococcal disease

For children of  the Republic of Moldova, "the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization" was allocated 667 thousands of dollars. Funds will be used to acquire more than 95 thousan doses of vaccines against pneumococcal disease, which causes pneumonia, meningitis, and otitis media.

In turn, the Moldovan government has also allocated about 190 thousand dollars for the purchase of 57 thousands doses of vaccine.

Children are vaccinated in three stages: in 2, 4 and 12 months. Vaccination is free at all public health centers of the country.

Even now, a year later, with the introduction of the free vaccine in the Republic of Moldova, we can see a substantial reduction in incidence of pneumococcal infections among children.
