Sharp fall of temperature in the last days brought the first snow. At the top of mountain Pikul Omu (Small Man) in Romania snowed. The temperature was only one degree above 0.

Meteorologists say the cold snap in the mountains started on Saturday, it was just 10 degress above 0. However, this temperature is not unusual for the Carpathians area. Last snow in the mountains Bucegi usually falls on July 31 and the first snowfall is - on 16 August.

On Sunday, cold snap continued, especially near the Carpathians. Thus, the temperature in the most territories of Romania will be lower than normal temperature in mid-August.
