Romanian authorities have decided to introduce tolls on roads. This practice is decided to implement in a year after the rehabilitation of several national arteries.

Thus toll roads are going to be A1 linking Bucharest and Banat and A2 running between Constance and the capital. The payment system will be introduced in 2015-2016.

Narcis Neaghe, head of the National Roads and highways said that fees may be collected by the state itself as well as by private investor, if the conditions of the concession will be ineffective.

Previously it was assumed that the fee for the highway will be introduced from 2017.
