Tanya Fiona – the speaker of the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Internal Affairs of the European Parliament reported this news for the portal Moldova.org.
She noted that she expects a positive debate, as there has already been achieved a political consensus in relation to the status of the Republic of Moldova, which hopefully will soon become the next neighbour of the EU. Thus the simplified visa system will give an opportunity for Moldova to continue its integration process to the EU.
Voting will take place before the end of February.
