Balti authorities have allocated funds for the construction of a new fountain in the central square of the city. Construction made possible after the administration of the city had regained the territory of the old fountain, once illegally acquired by one of the commercial firms.

Deputy Mayor of Balti, Octavian Mah, said: "The Botanica sector court in Chisinau has passed a resolution of cancellation of the court decision of 20 July last year, according to which Balti authorities lost part of the pedestrian zone and the city fountain."

Now a new fountain will be built on the place of the old one, which was built in the early 60s of the last century, and is not subject to restoration.
