In this way the authorities are trying to enforce the decision to raise the salaries of health workers by 21% from 1st July. According to estimates of the trade union of doctors, the system has a deficit of 46 million lei, and that does not allow any salary increase, but the Ministry of Health does not bother about this issue.
Managers of hospitals said they had been ordered to cut other expenses in order to transmit money to a fund for the salary, so 30 hospitals will do as it is ordered.
Increase of salaries will range from 825 to 1000 lei for the first category; it will lead to the average salary in the area up to 3.38 thousand lei.
