10 athletes will represent Moldova at the World Championships in weightlifting, which will be held from 8 to 16 November in Almaty. In the women's competition for medals will fight Prischepa Natalia, her weight category up to 75 kg. In the men's competitions will participate Oleg Sirghi (56 kg), Ion Tserna and Gennady Dudoglo (62 kg), and others.

The championship will take part only 683 athletes from 72 countries. At the last World Cup, which took place in autumn 2013 in Poland, the Republic of Moldova was represented by three athletes. They did not win any medals.
