In the Mexican pyramid archaeologists have found mercury

Sergio Gomez, a Mexican archaeologist discovered liquid mercury at the end of a tunnel under the Pyramid of the Feathered Serpent. This pyramid is the third largest of the pyramids Teortiukana, the ruined city of Mexico.

Researchers believe that the mercury found them in a chamber under the pyramid, may indicate the existence of the grave of the leader or ritual chamber beneath one of the oldest cities in America. Gomez began excavations in the tunnel, opened in 2003, half a year ago.

In November 2014 the archaeologist announced the discovery of three chambers at the end of the tunnel and a series of strange artifacts: a box with carved shells, the remains of a jaguar, rubber balls, jade statues. Now anthropologists and archaeologists continue to dig and Gomez said that the excavation will be completed by end of October.
