2% of income tax can be given to charitable foundations

Moldovan citizens will now be able to pay a small part of the income tax not to the state, but give it to charity.

Last year, the tax code was amended. Taxpayers will now be able to donate 2% income tax to religious institutions and non-profit community organizations.

To realize these benefits, you must fill out the form in the district office of the tax inspection and specify the recipient.

Now the Ministry of Finance tis developing the mechanisms of deductions and a list of organizations.

In Europe similar ways of supporting charitable organizations have been working long time. So in Bulgaria and Romania, taxpayers can donate 2%, in Germany 3%.
