
The document states that "in accordance with the Resolution of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova № 433-XII dated December 26th , 1990, in connection with the 50th anniversary of the formation in the republic the civil aviation group to perform the scheduled passenger traffic and considering the wishes of Civil Aviation workers, the Government of Moldova decides: on September 19th is to announce the date of the professional holiday – the Day of Civil Aviation."
The first scheduled flight was on September 19th , in 1944, and since that the Moldovan civil aviation has obtained some good results in this sphere and it is developing as one of the most important sectors of the national economy.
The central body of the public administration in the field of civil aviation is Moldovan Civil Aviation Administration (MCAA).
The responsibility of the administration is to support the normal functioning of the entire civil aviation of Moldova. Annually, the airport services are used by hundreds and thousands of passengers.
The flights are carried by the national as well as international air carriers, with the access of Moldova on the path of European integration and the abolition of the visa regime with the EU countries the number of new directions are raised extremely fast.
