Ion Creanga prose writer, the classic of Moldovan literature and progressive teacher who was born in Romania.

He began his career as a deacon and teacher, but being a born as superb storyteller, he publishes his own stories. He interlaced into the subtext of tales various life situations of that time.

A monument to this great and first rate word artist is on the building of Chisinau Pedagogical Institute, it was installed in 1982. Stella with high relief of Creanga is the work of art of sculptor V. Kuznetsov and architect V. Kudinova.
