On the first Sunday in September gasmen celebrate their professional holiday "Day of the gas system Worker."
The status of a public holiday, it obtained on 1st October, in 1980 by the decree of the Supreme Soviet Presidium of the USSR. Day of the gas system worker is celebrated not only in Moldova, but also in Russia and other former Soviet republics, gas communications which were created even during the time of the USSR.
For more than 60 years of development of the gas sector in Moldova, it has come a long way of development: from the first production of gas stoves and cylinders to the gasification of the whole Republic.
Gasification of the country as a whole has begun, and not just its central part - it started with the opening of the pipeline "Odessa - Chisinau". Soon on the territory of Moldova were launched natural gas pipelines as "Razdelinaya - Ismail", "Ananiev - Chernovtsi" and "Chisinau - Ribnita."
