Day of the National Security Worker of the Moldova Republic

This professional holiday of The Moldovan security workers was established by Decree № 196 of the President of the Republic of Moldova on September 9th, 1991. In accordance with this Decree was abolished the State Security Committee of the Republic of Moldova, and on its basis is formed the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). On April 6th, 1992 it was approved the Regulations for the Ministry of National Security.

National security - is the main goal to protect the fundamental interests of society and the state, and national values and lifestyles from interference by other subjects of international law.

A Security Officer is the professional, protecting the interests of the state and its citizens, ready to give their lives defending their homeland.

Main objects:
  • To strengthening the security of the country, maintaining the constitutional norms and the rule of law in the Republic of Moldova;
  • To prevention of illegal actions by terrorist and extremist organizations;
  • To protection of the rights and freedoms of man and citizen compliance with the principles of equal opportunity in front of the law;
  • To fight against crime and corruption;
  • To protection of the state border of the Republic of Moldova;
  • To train further qualified personnel for the security agencies.

Nowadays the professional holiday of workers of the security is celebrated in Moldova at the state level, on this day there are many interesting celebrations honouring veterans and rewarding the best employees of these services.
