Day of Frontier Troops in Moldova
Formation of the contemporary Moldovan Frontier Troops started after its independence in 1991.
It happened right after the border troops of the Ukraine and other CIS countries were reassigned to their own states, on 10th June , in 1992 was released the Decree of the President of the Republic of Moldova № 139 "On urgent measures for the organisation of the State Border Guard of Moldova Republic" and the government decree "On the organization of the Moldovan Frontier Troops."
Frontier Guard – is the public authority that is included into the system of state security, ensuring implementation of the state border policy, protecting the interests of the Republic of Moldova on the state border, the organisation service for the protection of borders and the legality of its crossing at arranged checkpoints.
Green colour of the border guard symbolizes trust. Not an easy task is the State Border Guard requires, first of all of firm moral qualities of character, professionalism and devotion.
