Sergei Cervoneac from village Pepeni, Sîngerei district, brought from Spain and planted Paulownia seedlings on one hectare.
Paulownia is a fast-growing tree; it is grown mainly for the timber and biomass.
The trees tolerate well frosts and drought.
Owner of the plantation Sergei Cervoneac explains: "I studied abroad where my colleagues studied the prospects for renewable energy. Thus to get cheap energy we need to plant more trees per hectare. For the second year we get 50 tons of biomass per year. It is about 200 cubic meters of timber. "
