The musical instrument, made almost 300 years ago, was stolen from Frank Almond - concertmaster of the Symphony Orchestra.
USA Today reports that the incident happened at about 22:30 on the car parking of Lutheran College where the Orchestra was giving a concert. A robber approached Almond and incapacitated the concertmaster by electroshocker, thus the case with the violin fell from his hands. The offender grabbed the instrument, got into his car and fled the scene of the crime.
The police failed to find any traces of the robbers. The approximate violin price is $ 6 million.
The stolen instrument was made in 1715. In music circles it is known as "Lipinski Stradivarius." Polish composer Karol Lipinski was one of its first owners.
