The Central Election Commission has issued 16 petitions applicants to participate in the parliamentary elections as independent candidates.
Rodica Sarbu, head of the press service of the Central Election Commission said that some candidates still collect signatures of voters, while others are engaged in checking the authenticity of the local authorities of the collected signatures. Under the Election Code, the independent candidate for registration need to submit at least 2,000 signatures from voters. Electoral threshold for representation in parliament for independent candidates - 2% of the vote, which is about 35 thousand votes.
