The draft of the New Education Code is under consideration in the RM legislature. Russian will no longer be required in the course of the school program; it is proposed to replace it with English. However, parents and students have the right to choose the second foreign language.

Igor Grosu, Vice Minister of Education said that two foreign languages will be required as for example Spanish and French or French and English, etc.
