The bill on the adoption of electronic signature was approved by Moldovan Government. This type of signature which is used in electronically formatted documents can be edited and placed within the confides of a computer programs.

The Republic of Moldova will introduce three types of electronic signature. Initially they have issued a simple
electronic signature, advanced signature on non-certified media and advanced electronic signatures on certified carriers or identity cards.

Pavel Filip, Minister of Information Technology and Communications said that electronic signatures will open more opportunities. This signature will allow people to sign the document making it legal as a remote geographical distance signatory.

Form the 1st  March 2014 people of Moldova will be given their first electronic identity cards with integrated digital signature.
