During the last three days whilst carrying out a national operation codenamed "Speed"; The National Inspectorate patrols have stopped and fined 1504 drivers for speeding throughout the country.

Speeding is the most common cause of accidents, from the beginning of 2015 already there has been some 80 accidents in which 16 people have died and 93 were injured.

Many drivers do not take into account the danger of speeding; they are convinced that they can avoid an accident. The purpose of the "Speed" campaign is to convey information to drivers that speeding is a risk and thus by respecting traffic rules drivers can reduce the number of accidents significantly.
