In Orhei there have been installed surveillance video cameras, which will monitor the public order in the town. Thus, local authorities hope to reduce the number of crimes committed in the streets.

Mayor of Orhei, Vitali Colun, said: "The implementation of this project will enable the police commissariat to respond quickly to crime and prevent administrative violations."

At the moment, the cameras work in the test mode. Funds for the project have been provided by the European Union.
