Since 28th April, when the RM has introduced visa-free system with the European countries, only four Moldovan citizens were not allowed to cross the border. Head of the Border Police Dorin Purici said that the flow of people leaving the country has not increased.

Also the head of the Border Police said that during this period, only four holders of biometric passports had been returned home, three of which were not in possession of sufficient funds and the final one citizen could not explain the reason for his going abroad.

The border has been crossed over by 15,780 citizens with biometric passports, more than half of whom have been doing this for the first time.
