Grant Agreement for $ 94.4 thousand was signed March 13, 2013 by Japan's ambassador Toichi Sakata in Moldova and the library’s director Claudia Balaban.
At the opening the library consists of 550 prints and 600 electronic books. In addition, the library has wireless internet, three laptops and tablets, projector screen, a digital camera, board games and toys for children. The library is equipped with a reading room.
The main visitors will be children from orphanages, boarding schools, as well as from low-income families.
