European Junior Championship has been completed in Anapa. It involved 246 young boxers aged 15-16 from 33 countries of the European continent. Boxers from Moldova have won one silver and two bronze medals, and entered the top ten countries of the Old World.

Chisinau citizen Alexander Paraschiv won the silver medal, losing in the finals to the owner of the ring Russian Vladimir Strigin spending 5 heavy fighting in the weight category of 54 kg. Bronze medals were given to boxers Vadim Karajia in the category of 60 kg and Vasile Petula in 80 kg category.
